DESIGN, PLANNING & REGULATIONS
A very warm welcome to the ‘Rackhams Builders’ website, we are based on the outskirts of the historic town of Diss in Palgrave on the Norfolk/Suffolk border.
We are registered and approved by OFTEC (Oil Firing Technical Association), the Gas Safe Register (formally known as CORGI) and the Anglian Water Approved Plumbers Scheme.
Rackhams Builders are a local, family run company with old fashioned values of honesty, quality and reliability. We combine this with modern working practices and speed of response. Our trustworthy team of qualified and experienced building professionals are headed by Ms Rachel Rackham – "Whether you require a slipped tile to be replaced or a complete house refurbishment, we will provide the very highest standards of workmanship and customer care. We have our own ‘in house’ plumbers, heating engineers and electricians as well as a team of professionals that cover all the traditional building trades".
With over 150 years working in the building industry, Rackhams Builders view building works holistically, applying our knowledge on planning, conservation issues, building regulations, health and safety, party wall regulations, landlord and tenant law and access on highways, we provide far more than just advise on the building works themselves.
We are geared specifically to take away the time consuming and stressful worries of managing a project yourself, saving you from the potential pitfalls when lacking the extensive knowledge and experience required in the industry; we will ensure that your build goes smoothly from the original concept to its completion.
Our clients include local authorities, estate and letting agents, private home owners and private landlords.
Here at Rackhams Builders we recycle wherever we can, including bricks, rubble, plastics and metal.
We also support ‘ethical’ banking, using the Reliance Bank – The Salvation Army Trustee Company and The Salvation Army International Trustee Company still retain joint ownership of the bank and each year receive an equal share of the bank’s allowable profits.
